GI Pipes - Application, Advantages & Disadvantages

Galvanized iron (GI) pipes are made from mild steel strips made from Low Carbon Steel Coils. To give the strips a circular shape, they are run through a succession of fin rolls. The slit ends of the strips are then welded together by applying a high frequency electric current across the edges constantly. The welded steel pipes are then sent through sizing sections to fix any dimensional discrepancies. Automatic cutting equipment are then used to cut the pipes to the desired lengths.
